Supporting the Next Generation of Engineers and Innovators

Join us as we compete in STEM Racing (formerly F1 in Schools), a world-renowned STEM competition that challenges students to design, manufacture and race miniature F1-style cars.

About STEM Racing

STEM Racing, formerly known as F1 in Schools, is a global competition supported by Formula 1 which allows students to experience the excitement of real-world engineering and motorsport. Teams of 3–6 students aged 11–19 design, manufacture and race miniature F1 cars powered by CO2 canisters on a 20m track.

Tempest Racing will be competing in the Professional Class, facing some of the strongest teams in the country and potentially the world. The competition is truly multidisciplinary – teams are judged not only on car speed, but also on engineering quality, presentation, branding, marketing and teamwork.

About Our Team

Tempest Racing is a student-led team from King Edward VI School, Stratford, made up of aspiring engineers and future leaders. Our team members have achieved strong GCSE results in Mathematics, Sciences, Design & Technology, Statistics and Computer Science – all key subjects for success in STEM and motorsport.

Our engineering capability is strengthened by links to the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, as well as experience in CAD design, aerodynamics, branding and project management. We are committed to operating as professionally as possible in every area of the competition.

Why Sponsor Tempest Racing?

To compete at a high level, we need to fund essential elements such as car development, manufacturing, pit display, team uniforms, marketing and travel to events. These costs are significant, and we are unable to meet them fully without external support.

By sponsoring Tempest Racing, your company will gain visibility at a prestigious national STEM competition, alongside a clear association with innovation, engineering, education and youth development. Your brand will be seen by students, teachers, parents and industry professionals.

Brand Exposure Opportunities

  • Branding on our car
  • Branding on our pit display
  • Logos on team shirts and hoodies
  • Inclusion in social media posts and digital content
  • Potential title sponsorship with your name integrated into “Tempest Racing”

How Your Support Helps

Sponsorship funding will be used strictly for competition-related expenses. The main cost areas include:

  • Car design & manufacturing – CAD software, materials, machining and testing
  • Pit display – structure, printed panels, lighting and visuals
  • Team uniforms – branded shirts, hoodies and teamwear
  • Transport & logistics – travel to regional and national events
  • Marketing & media – photography, video and social content
  • Optional practice track – allowing us to test and optimise our car, massively improving performance

Sponsorship Packages

We are flexible and happy to tailor packages, but a typical structure is outlined below:

Our Plans

In the immediate future, our goal is to prepare a highly competitive car and professional team presence for the West Midlands regional finals. From there, we aim to qualify for the national finals and ultimately compete at the world level.

Along the way, we will develop our skills in engineering, aerodynamics, branding, finance, project management and teamwork – gaining experience that will support our future careers in STEM and beyond.
